A placement with The Humanity Exchange requires a certain level of maturity and life skills. Therefore, we only accept participants over the age of eighteen. If you are an adult who wants to become engaged in international development, we are committed to helping you achieve that. Our volunteers have a wide variety of abilities, and we know that we can put your talents into action to help our partners in developing countries.
The Humanity Exchange experience is unique for everyone. We know that your decision to volunteer is personal. We ensure your program has flexibility, and is in line with your reasons for volunteering abroad. In fact, in addition to our regular opportunities, we provide programs with a Tailored Focus; we work with you to create a program which enables you to offer the most, and learn the most from your placement.

Students
Volunteering abroad is an invaluable experience for students. No matter what you are studying, you will gain knowledge and understanding that can not be taught in a classroom. Whether you will be looking for employment or further education following graduation, a placement with The Humanity Exchange is an asset on your resume. It demonstrates ambition, adaptability, and experience in managing international situations. It will give you a major advantage in your future endeavours.
You can gain course credit through your placement with The Humanity Exchange. To do this, be sure to sign up for the Internship Abroad program option. Most colleges and universities have Independent Study, Directed Reading, and Practicum courses. We would be happy for you to use your placement with The Humanity Exchange to fill the requirements for these courses. We will ensure your Internship Abroad meets the requirements of your school.
Career Professionals
If you are taking time away from work, there couldn’t be a more fulfilling alternative than volunteering abroad. Whether you are looking to spend just a few weeks overseas, or would like to take a longer career break, The Humanity Exchange has meaningful placements that are a change from the everyday.
